Peruvian-born creative/art director, brand designer, and illustrator Hernán Valencia crafts impactful visual experiences from his base in NorCal. Driven by deep research and visual exploration, he creates compelling brand identities, striking music posters, and engaging editorial imagery. His experience spans the dynamic landscape of startup culture, where he earned Addy awards for brand work at Looker, to the global reach of Google, where he championed inclusive and accessible brand marketing and developed identities rooted in culture, connection, and craft.
As an illustrator, he has collaborated with clients across the music and entertainment industries, and contributed editorial layouts to numerous publications and magazines. His work has been recognized by the Society of Illustrators Los Angeles and New York annuals, shortlisted for the World Illustration Awards, exhibited in galleries nationwide, and featured in prominent industry blogs.
He's currently documenting his past experience as Art Director in the tech industry, is an ardent supporter of life/work balance and remains a curious and inquisitive weirdo. He speaks Spanish, thinks he can speak French, and he's never met a Negroni he didn't like.
