Overview
I developed a cohesive visual identity system for Yoke Lore's EP release 'Absolutes', translating his philosophical themes and musical style into a comprehensive brand experience spanning album art, digital platforms, merchandise, and a conceptual booklet.

Challenge
Big Indie recruited me to create a visual identity for Yoke Lore's EP, subtly representing his philosophical influences (Taoism, Lao Tzu, I-Ching) while maintaining continuity with his previous work. The challenge was to translate abstract concepts like constraint and freedom into a cohesive visual language.
Solution
We developed a narrative using the "box" as a symbol of constraint, contrasted with Yoke Lore's hand-drawn sketches representing the human spirit breaking free. This visual motif was implemented across all platforms. Hand-written lyrics and titles added a personal touch, while gradients symbolized change and natural color palettes reflected key themes. This system was applied to album art (CD and vinyl packaging by Pirate Press), social media (including location-specific Instagram stories), web headers, and a Spotify ad featuring edited music videos. I also designed apparel and a booklet explaining the EP's concepts.
Results
This comprehensive project significantly enhanced Yoke Lore's visual presence. The cohesive identity was successfully implemented across digital and physical platforms, contributing to his music's strong performance on Spotify and features in industry articles. The project's breadth, encompassing diverse media from album art to merchandise, showcased its versatility and impact.
